มารู้จักการบินทั่วไป หรือ General Aviation กันดีกว่า

“General Aviation (GA) are all civil aviation operations other than scheduled air services and non-scheduled air transport operations for remuneration or hire. General aviation flights range from gliders and powered parachutes to corporate business jet flights. The majority of the world’s air traffic falls into this category, and most of the world’s airports serve general aviation exclusively.” – wikipedia

สรุปง่ายๆเลยก็คือ การบินทั่วไปหรือที่เรารู้จักในนาม General Aviation เรียกกันสั้นๆว่า GA เป็นการทำการบินนอกเหนือจากการบินที่บินตามตารางเวลา (Scheduled Flight) ซึ่งคนส่วนมากรู้จักกันในรูปแบบของสายการบิน (Commercial Flight)

GA จึงมีตั้งแต่เครื่องบินประเภท Gliders (เครื่องร่อน) ไปจนถึง Corporate Business Jet เช่น
– การบินรับ-ส่งผู้ป่วย (Air Ambulance)
– การบินเช่าเหมาลำ (Charter flight)
– การบินชมทัศนียภาพ (Sightseeing or Discovery flight)
– การบินลากป้ายโฆษณา (Banner Towing)

ประเทศไทยเรานั้นมีบริษัทที่เป็น General Aviation อยู่หลายบริษัท ที่ให้บริการทั้ง Air Charter, Private Jet และ Air Ambulance.

ในเมื่อมี GA ก็ต้องมี Fixed Based Operator (FBO) ในความหมายของ FBO คือการรวมการบริการต่างๆ เช่น การบริการเครื่องเช่าเหมาลำ (Charter flight) การซ่อมบำรุง (Maintainance) การบริการติดต่อ/จัดสรรที่จอด (Ground handling) การบริการเติมน้ำมัน ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง ศุลกากร ฯลฯ

ในกรุงเทพฯมีให้บริการ FBO หรือ อาคารผู้โดยสารส่วนบุคคล (Private Jet Terminal) ตั้งอยู่ที่ท่าอากาศยานดอนเมือง
